Walk (107) Nutbrook Trail 6.6 mi. Easy. Feb 19th 2020

On 19/02/2020 Steve Hargreaves led 12 Hikers on the Nutbrook Trail circular walk beginning and ending at Straws Bridge car park just of the A609 near West Halam Derbyshire. Although we'd been deluged by two winter storms Ciara and Dennis within the space of a week this walk is suitable for all weathers because the predominant footpaths are hard core construction. We began the walk on a cold grey overcast day. Half way around the walk it began raining and continued until the end of our walk.
refreshments were taken at the Newdigate PH we were lucky to find a table where we could all sit and recap another lovely walk with our 'Hiker Friends'.

Walk (106) Cromford Canal to Black Rocks Feb 5th 2020

On Feb 5th 2020 Steve Hargreaves led 12 Hikers members on this walk. Weather was fine dry bright with a cool breeze at times. The walk encountered a path closure on the foot bridge which crosses the River Derwent and the Trainline, we retraced the towpath back to High Peak Junction and took an alternate footpath, crossing the busy A6 Ambergate to Cromford road. The detour added an extra 45 mins, approx, to the walk. On returning to the car park at the High Peak junction we all proceeded to the Bluebell PH @ South Wingfield for refreshments.
