**100** Walk Sherwood Forest Oct 2nd 2019 .

On October 2nd 2019 the torrential rain over the proceeding week meant we couldn't do the planned 5 Dales walk starting at Tideswell. The 5 dales walk will be rescheduled with a slot in our 2020 walks.
Instead
We rendezvoused at the Dukeries Lodge in Edwinstowe, from where we began a walk through Sherwood Forest.

Steve Hargreaves led 12 Hikers on a walk of  6.5 mi passing the Major Oak inside the Forest and past the statues of Maid Marion and Robin Hood in Edwinstowe.

The weather was warm very sunny and dry with clear blue skies all day. We enjoyed celebratory Cake and Prosecco on the Decking of the Dukeries Lodge restaurant. Cakes Provided by Sandra and Jean, Prosecco by Steve.
Those present today in no particular order were John, Steve, Richard, Robert, Geoff, Andy, Yvonne, Sandra, Jean, Pauline, Fiona and  Frances.

"The Hardest part of walk today,
 was popping the second cork
of our Prosecco Bottles" see below. :-)
